Thai Inspired Green Papaya Salad
After Indian cuisine Thai is our favorite . We love everything, from simple Thai salad to Thai iced tea.Today I am sharing simple salad recipe slightly adapted from Here. I made some changes,omitted some ingredients and added Thai yellow curry sauce and fresh basil leaves to the recipe.
Ingredients
For the Salad
- 1 medium sized green papaya, peeled and shredded
- 2 medium sized carrots, peeled and shredded
- handful chopped toasted peanuts
- fresh basil leaves
- Juice of two limes
- 2 Tbsp fish sauce
- 3 garlic cloves
- 2 green chili , seeded and chopped
- 1-2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tbs Thai yellow curry sauce (optional)
Directions
Using a mortar and pestle , crush green chillis and garlics. To this add lime juice, fish sauce , yellow curry sauce and brown sugar, mix really well . Place your shredded papaya and carrots in a large salad bowl .Toss in fresh basil leaves.Right before you serve the salad, mix the dressing and then drizzle it over the salad ingredients, mixing well to combine. Top the salad with some chopped toasted peanuts.
