Zeppole / Italian donuts
Zeppole is an Italian pastry also known as Italian Doughnuts. They are deep fried dough usually topped with powdered sugar.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- salt, a pinch
- 2 tsp white sugar
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar or orange sugar for dusting
- oil to fry
Directions
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. To this add beaten eggs, ricotta cheese and vanilla .Mix gently
over low heat until combined. With a tablespoon drop into the hot oil and fry till golden brown. Dust with orange sugar or u can use powdered sogar or cinnamon sugar.
How to make orange sugar
Mix
orange zest with white sugar and place it in a brown bag. Put all the donuts in it and shake well till coated. Seve warm.

ReplyDeleteDhivya : Yes u hav to put it on stove on low heat. it will mix easily,the mixture should be of a dropping consistency and fry it on low heat otherwise inside will be raw,....
