Cabbage Capsicum Masala




Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated cabbage
  • 1 cup capsicum(bell pepper), cut  in long, thin pieces
  • 1 /2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 garlics, chopped
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 onions, chopped cut in long pieces
  • 1 tomato, cut  in long pieces
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • coriander leaves to garnish
  • salt as needed

Directions

    Heat 1 tbs oil in a pan, splutter cumin seeds. Add ginger, garlics, green chillies and onions.  Saute  till raw
smell goes and onions turn slightly golden. To this add  chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala and saute for 1 minute. Add grated cabbage and fry for 3-4 minutes. Now add capsicum pieces and tomatoes. Cook covered for 5 to 10  minutes. Adjust salt and add add coriander leaves. Turn off the heat and serve with chappathi, poori or as a side dish with rice.
