Easy Vendakka Curry / Okra In Yogurt Gravy
Ingredients
- okra ,cut in 1 inch long pieces
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1-2 green chillies
- curry leaves, few
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp ginger chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic, chopped
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- coriander leaves, to garnish
- mint leaves, to garnish
- 1/2 tsp dry fenugreek leaves
- salt, as required
- 1 tbs vegetable oil
Directions
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, curry leaves, onions
and green chilli. Saute this well and then add okra pieces, turmeric powder,
chilli powder, salt and coriander powder. Add water to this and cook covered.
Once cooked add cumin powder and powdered dry fenugreek leaves. Take off
the flame and add beaten yogurt to this curry. Garnish with coriander leaves
and mint leaves. Serve with rice.
sounds like the morkulambhu we make.adding garlic is new t me.love the recipe.
